IN THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE RAKOV ŠKOCJAN AND CERKNICA LAKE
Rakov Škocjan is
situated in the Inner Carniola in the middle part of Slovenia. That is a famous
Karst Valley which has been taking shape for millions years. Today it has the
status of the Landscape Park with a lot of beautiful natural remarkable nesses
and with the magic of the underground world of beautiful Karst caves. A lot of
interesting caves are known and they can be seen with help of a tourist guide
and a caving lamp. Such caves are the Zelše Caves, the Tkalca Cave, the Kebw’s
Cave and a lot of minor caves lying in this valley.
Accommodation of
the tourists can be carried out at the Hotel Rakov Škocjan. This hotel can give
a shelter to 30 guests.
To our tourists,
who would wish to see the environment of the lake, we can offer some whole-day
excursions as follows:
DAY 1:
-
guests are arriving to Rakov Škocjan till 12 o’clock
at noon
-
in the afternoon a visit of the entire valley along
the natural way will follow

at 7 p.m. dinner for the guests will be served
DAY 2:
-
getting up and breakfast from 7 to 8 a.m.

at 9 a.m. departure into the Canyon of Iška. This is a
whole-day excursion. The transport by a van is comfortable and safe
-
walking along the canyon of Iški Vintgar for about six
hours with a picnic from the rucksack
-
at 6 p.m. return to Hotel Rakov Škocjan
DAY 3:
-
getting up and breakfast from 7 to 8 a.m.

at 9 a.m. departure to the Zelše Cave by the water
part

at 2 p.m. caving picnic at the Kevderc Cave
DAY 4:

from 7 to 8 a.m. departure for a whole-day trip to the
mountain Snežnik through the Leska Valley (Leskova dolina) and picnic

at 4 p.m. return to Kozarišče and survey of the
Snežnik Castle

at 6 p.m. return to Hotel Rakov Škocjan
DAY 5:

from 7 to 8 a.m. getting up and breakfast

at 9 a.m. departure by a van with the aim to see the
Cerknica Lake with Mala and Velika Karlovica (Small and Large Karlovica) and
the Cave under the Castle

picnic at Goričica, visiting the village Otok (isle)
and the springs of the Stržen Stream at the upper part of the Cerknica Lake
-
at 5 p.m. return to Hotel Rakov Škocjan

To your
wish we can also organize following trips:
To
Slivnica, Nanos, to the old part of Ljubljana, Piran and Križna Cave. Every
group should count up to eight persons at the most. If the group has less than
4 persoins, the price will be increased for 5 EUR per person. All guests are
insured against accidents at the insurance company ADRIATIC.
